Your favourite online bank has had a record year and has just put a record quarter behind it as well. Once again we have bettered our own growth forecasts and opened almost seven thousand new accounts in spite of, or rather because of the stock exchange turbulence of the first three months of the year. Soon we'll be able to greet our hundred thousandth customer!
We are, of course, proud of our success but that does not blind us to your wishes and needs - quite the contrary. We just want to continue providing you with first-class service and innovative technologies.
With this in mind we have set up evening seminars particularly for new customers that are proving extremely popular. There are also interesting workshops and discussion forums in our lounge in Zurich for customers of longer standing during which you may take the opportunity of getting to know your Online Leader personally.

EVEN BETTER THAN EXPECTED! |

Yet again we have done better than forecast, and gained more new customers and signed up more customer funds than we expected, and all in the first quarter of the new year. Despite the confusion in the financial markets, our profits of CHF 27.6 million were slightly higher than our results for the same period last year. The operating profit of CHF 14.7 million and net profit of CHF 11.5 million were a bit lower than the year before. The reason for that is that we are investing in the future, so our marketing costs have gone up.
We are therefore sticking to our ambitious growth figures, namely 25,000 new customers this year and new funds of at least CHF 1,2 million flowing in. Dedicated to success, you might say...

The hall was crammed, and the tension was palpable, with some of the vibes of a beauty contest. It was in fact a dishy former "Miss Switzerland", Fiona Hefti (2004), who dished out the Community Award to our top customer - Bank Vontobel's representative.
The Swiss Structured Products Association, which federates the derivative market players, was singled out for distinction. There were many competitors but few winners for this presentation, which covered professionals from the fields of leverage, participation, yield optimisation, and of capital products. EFG Financial Products, a newcomer in Swissquote's derivative leaders group, waltzed off with first prize in the yield optimisation category. Organising the event for the third time were Stocks, Derivative Partners AG and Swissquote.
