How to access Swissquote from your PDA :
- either via your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) at the address http://pda.swissquote.ch.
- or using the “Swissquote Live” tool, a Java Midlet which runs directly on your PDA using your Midlet Manager (Java application manager available on most mobile devices).
“Swissquote Live” is an application that was specially designed for PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant), namely Pocket PCs, Palm Pilots and other smartphones with touchscreens. It uses Java J2ME technology, more commonly known as “Midlets” (a name that comes from MIDP or “Mobile Information Device Profile”).
This application, reserved for use by bank clients, automatically provides dynamic, user-friendly, optimised updating of your preferred quotes or personal pages. It can be downloaded from the http://pda.swissquote.ch site (under “Login Bank”, “Swissquote Live”).
A beta version of the tool is currently available. Your comments and suggestions will be most welcome to help develop it further.

FAQs
-
My PDA does not recognise this type of application.
Make sure your PDA has a Midlet Manager. If this is not the case, you should install this program following the links below :
- For Pocket PCs running on Windows Mobile : http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/product.jsp?s=p&id=DVDE-634P22
- For Palm Pilots : http://www.palm.com/us/support/jvm/

Why doesn’t the list of securities displayed in Swissquote Live correspond to the list for my bank account?
The securities displayed in Swissquote Live are those on your personal pages. For reasons of security, banking information is not displayed in the Midlet. To display the securities in your account, you have to create a personal page containing them.
-
I can’t click on the buttons or activate the menus...
This application has been tested for PDAs with touchscreens. If you do not have a touchscreen, you will not be able to use this tool properly. Instead, you should use Swissquote Mobile via wap.swissquote.ch
-
How much does it cost me to transfer data ?
It costs about ten times less than what you’re billed for WAP pages to receive the same information. Indeed, the page layout and data management functions are already integrated in the application.
The initial download (approx. 80 KB) can be slightly more costly.
-
What is a Midlet Manager ?
It is a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Or to put it simply, an application which allows you to create a Java environment on your mobile phone in order to run Midlet applications.
Most of the latest devices, such as Pocket PCs with Windows Mobile 2005/2006 and smartphones supporting Java, have a preinstalled JVM.

What is the security level of the password I enter?
After you have identified yourself using a secure means of transmission, the “bank” password entered by you to open a realtime connection is automatically deleted from the memory and replaced by an encrypted key. This key will be stored in your device, allowing automatic connection at the next login. If you click on “Logout”, the encrypted key is automatically deleted.
If you click on “Exit”, the data transfer is interrupted but the encrypted key is saved (you may also change your configuration such that the key is not saved).
