This page is intended as a start-up guide to help you to make Java applets work on your system.For the most up to date information on Java applets and configuring your system, please refer to your browser website.

Basic solutions.
1. Check that your browser has JavaScript enabled.
   Internet Explorer    Netscape   


In the menu select 'Tools' - 'Internet Options' and then the 'Advanced' tab.

Ensure that you have a section called 'Microsoft VM' (otherwise see 'Advanced solutions'

and that the box 'Java console enabled' has been ticked and that the box 'JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled' HAS NOT BEEN TICKED (not strictly necessary but it can be a source of errors)


In the menu select 'Edit /Preferences' then choose the 'Advanced' option.

Check that the 'Enable Java' and 'Enable Java Script' options are active.



2. If your browser has difficulties using Swissquote Tools on a regular basis, it is possible that your computer has insufficient memory. In this case try only using one tool at a time.

3. If a java box opens requesting a password (see image below), enter your Swissquote Premium password.


Advanced Documentation :

1. Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Browser menu Tools - Internet options - Advanced
A * See if you have a section called 'Microsoft VM' and that 'Java console enabled' is checked.


B * If you don’t have it download Microsoft VM.

C * If you have Microsoft VM, you can check which version it is by going to the Internet Explorer menu: View /Java Console

At the top of the window you will see a message like this:
Microsoft (R) VM for Java, 5.0 Release 5.0.0.3810


The last number is the VM version number.
If it is below 3810 you can perform an upgrade.


2. Netscape communicator or Netscape Navigator
Swissquote Java Tools have been tested for:
  • Windows 95/98/98 Second Edition, 2000/NT/XP, as well as for Netscape 4.08 and 4.7x or higher.

3. Opera user :
If you experience any difficulties, please follow the instructions on the Opera website

4. Windows XP users :
If Java programmes have not been installed by default in your version of Windows XP, you can download them from the Microsoft website or from the Sun website.

5. Macintosh users
Java Tools have only been tested with Internet Explorer 4.5 and Safari 1.2.2. If you experience any difficulties an updated plugin is available from the Apple
